Teacher Diaries: Mr. Jonathan – Teaching Philosophy

My approach to teaching is based upon this:

An acknowledgment of a common purpose and shared values within a humanist and international framework; the desire to propagate this, and to encourage scholarship, the pursuit of excellence, independence and the acquisition of skill. These are key features of learning. To this end, personal organisation, deportment, as well as attention to the fundamental “Three R’s” are
paramount, serving as a foundation upon which to allow a given learner discover and express his or her identity.

I am also influenced by the Montessori educational movement, in the future would like to practice this increasingly, because I believe this method offers embedded advantages, in comparison to rote-learning alone.
