Indeed, every English speaker, be it\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/englishharmony.com\/learn-from-benicio-del-toro\/\">native<\/a>\u00a0or foreign, is\u00a0<strong>bound to<\/strong>\u00a0hesitate at some stages during a conversation.\u00a0Therefore, I will like to share some tips on how to hesitate like a native English speaker while you speak. Always remember that i<strong>t\u2019s normal for you to pause a little bit when you are expressing yourself. It might be because you are thinking of a right word to put in, or it\u2019s <\/strong>when you\u2019re asked some question that you can\u2019t give a straightforward answer to so you are thinking how to rephrase your words.<\/p>\n<p>To make the hesitation more natural, use <strong>FILLERS<\/strong>! Words like\u00a0<em>\u2018well\u2019, \u2018you know\u2019, \u2018all right\u2019 , \u2018like\u2019 and\u00a0 \u2018you see\u2019<\/em> can probably save you from awkward moments of silence. It is also a signal to send to your conversation partner that you\u2019re just thinking instead of not continuing your sentences without reason. Here are some examples of how you can use fillers in your expression:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Well\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cYou\u2019re half an hour late today, did anything happen?\u201d<\/em><br \/>\n<em>\u201cWell\u2026\u00a0<\/em>(thinking on whether to reveal the whole truth)<em>\u00a0I was out last night and simply forgot to set the alarm clock!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>You see\/You know\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cRobby,\u00a0<\/em><strong>how come<\/strong><em>\u00a0you still haven\u2019t finished your work?\u201d<\/em><br \/>\n<em>\u201cYou see\/ You know\u2026<\/em>\u00a0(thinking about the arguments to present in order to explain the issue)\u00a0<em>I am still working on my Arts Project, I will definitely get the work done by tonight!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>All right\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cJessie said she wouldn\u2019t attend the meeting today, so I\u2019m not sure if there\u2019s any point in having one today.\u201d<\/em><br \/>\n<em>\u201cJessie\u2019s not attending? All right\u2026 all right\u2026\u00a0<\/em>(accepting the fact and considering the consequences)\u00a0<em>I guess we have to\u00a0<\/em><strong><em>call the meeting off\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><em>indeed!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Like\"><strong>Like<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u2026\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cDo you know why Jack got into a fight last Saturday?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe had a few drinks in a bar, and then he became like\u2026\u00a0<\/em>(considering which words would better fit Jack\u2019s description at that time)\u00a0<em>a completely different person!
