Starting at the end

A good story needs not to be a long one. While we were discussing story endings in our Critical Reading and Writing lesson today, we tried to write the beginning to some given scenarios. Limited to only three sentences, Richelle Wo (P2) showed careful considerations in her writing of the back story, which gave an ingenious twist to the seemingly benign situation.

Today was the day that the ballerina performed. When she was changing clothes in the room, she heard a man said, “I want to kill the ballerina.” She was scared. The ballerina stepped out into the stage. Her heart was pounding not because she was nervous, but because she knew he would be sat in the audience watching her.
