With my S2 class, we have begun exploring classic English poems. This week we talked about I wandered lonely as a Cloud (William Wordsworth) and The Wild Swans at Coole (W. B. Yeats). We spent a good amount of time discussing the significance of each poem, before developing our own thoughts with regard to the text. Then, we moved on to place the two poems side by side and consider them in comparison. Both poems deal with themes related to nature, and this week students have shown an exceptional sensitivity to the messages and ideas that are to be found in these two poems. They have shown that they are able to interact with the poem carefully and thoughtfully. Keep it up girls; well done!
