I believe teaching should be an interactive and immersive process above all. The best teachers I have had always encouraged students to share their viewpoints and learn from one another, rather than accepting ideas at face value. I plan to emphasise this in my teaching. Whilst learning content is important, I want students to develop the ability to analyse, critique and communicate their views effectively.
Sachin is in his first year at Robinson College, Cambridge, studying a dual honours degree in History and Spanish. Previously, he taught Latin at his local primary school and spent three summers volunteering at his local library as part of the UK’s nationwide Summer Reading Challenge. He was also an academic prefect at Eton College, serving as a role model and a bridge between the faculty and the student body. Sachin enjoys reading and particularly likes Stoic texts to relax at the end of the day. He hopes to help students learn history through a broad lens—understanding not only events, but the interconnected processes that shaped them.
