French

Course Description

French is known as one of the most beautiful languages in the world. Students who enjoy music, have an ear for languages, and love literature, cinema and debate will love learning français. This is also a good language to choose for any students who are aiming to study abroad. With over 76 million native speakers around the world, French is the primary foreign language in many British and North American schools.

Our French course equips students with the foundations of French vocabulary, grammar and communication skills. Students learn how to introduce themselves and talk about daily routines, family, food, places, and French culture. They will also learn about verb conjugations, noun genders and adjectival agreement as they begin to master French grammar. Many will be able to engage in basic conversation in just a few weeks.

Our courses are offered at both Primary and Secondary level, with younger students focusing on materials from Beginners’ French, and older students on Encore Tricolore and OUP materials. Courses are taught by tutors with degrees in Modern Languages from world-class universities, including the universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

Worried that French will be one too many subjects for your child? Parents and students should know that learning French will complement English studies, as the two languages are closely related. By choosing French, students will strengthen their knowledge of English vocabulary. Plus, as French is an official UN language, this is a great language to learn for all aspiring travellers and diplomats!
