Settling in at DBS and DGJS: Our K3 Graduates Shine Bright

As we are now three months into the school year, let’s check in on our old K3 students who are settling into life as a P1.

Ryder Tsang

Ryder was my student back in K3 when he enrolled in Critical Reading and Writing L0. He loved reading and was always making me and his classmate laugh with his jokes. He also kept a weekly diary to help build his writing skills.

Now, Ryder is a P1 student at Diocesan Boys’ School and is enjoying studying in a bigger school. He says that his teachers are very kind and that his swimming has improved. Ryder is especially excited to start practicing dictation, something new for him. He’s currently studying Critical Reading and Writing L1 with Ms Pun, working hard and having fun. Right now, he’s making a comic with the characters Frog and Toad and says that he’s finding the topic of rhyming words a lot easier to understand. His teachers at i-Learner are so happy to hear about Ryder thriving in DBS and making fantastic progress in his English.

Tiffany Yung

Tiffany was also one of my K3 students in Critical Reading and Writing L0. She loved using her imagination to write stories and draw pictures using her impressive set of pencil crayons.

Now, Tiffany is settling into P1 at Diocesan Girls’ Junior School. She particularly loves her teacher, Mrs Lau, who Tiffany describes as “very kind and lovely”, and that the homework is easier than in K3! She is continuing her Critical Reading and Writing studies in L1 with Miss Nicole, where she’s busy learning “writing, reading, and writing letters”. Now that she’s in primary school, she says that her spelling has improved and she can now do her hair by herself. Tiffany is looking forward to taking part in some drawing and library projects at school, and we can’t wait to see all the wonderful things she’ll do next!
